Police Cracking Down On Aggressive Driving Along Route 22
MONROEVILLE – If you live east of Pittsburgh, you're going to notice a lot more police patrolling Route 22 in the next few weeks.
Officers will be patrolling the road, looking for aggressive drivers in the Monroeville area. They'll be looking for violations like speeding, weaving in and out of lanes, texting while driving and work zone violations, among other offenses.
The aggressive driving crackdown is a joint effort between PennDOT and local police.
Extra patrols will be added from now through May 1.
Route 22 isn't the only area where police will be adding extra patrols.
"Locally in the region, there's 41 law enforcement agencies, along with four Pennsylvania State Police troops, that will be participating," PennDOT Safety Press Officer Jay Ofsanik said.
Agencies from across the state will be working with State Police to monitor 450 roadways in Pennsylvania.
