Police Continue To Search For Person Of Interest In Westmoreland Co. Murder

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) – The investigation into a brutal murder continues and we're finding out more about the person of interest the police are looking for.

While the Ligonier Borough Police aren't commenting, sources close to the case and neighbors say the person of interest in the murder of 52-year-old Angela Cavalero is her boyfriend Gregory Randall.

"Their relationship has been very tumultuous," said neighbor Judy Fyock. "They (police) been there for domestics, three or four times that I can think in the last year."

Fyock has lived next to Randall since the 57-year-old man moved in a few years ago.

"He's never seemed to be aggressive, never anyone I was afraid of," she said.

However, court records show Randall pleading guilty to simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats multiple times.

The murder victim in the case, Cavalero, was found dead inside 16 Locust Road in Laughlintown. Police are still not revealing the details of how she was killed.

Larissa Bixler of Sharpsburg says her grandmother,Cavalero, was something of a free spirit.

Bixler said "Grandma Angie" was one of those people "who didn't care what other people thought of her, she was very outgoing."

"It's a 1995 Grand Marquis, navy blue in color, it has religious stickers of some type on the back bumper," said Ligonier Borough Police Chief John Berger.

That's the car police are looking for and the stickers are similar to ones on a car parked in Randall's front yard. And while police are not confirming Randall is the person of interest, they say leads are coming in.

Watch Ralph Iannotti's report:

"We're starting to get some tips that he might still be in the area," said Berger.

Whatever the outcome of this is, one neighbor KDKA spoke with says they hope the home is town down – if for no other reason than it will bring back bad memories for a place that's peaceful and quiet.

Bixler told KDKA-TV News, "I just want justice for my grandma, it was a terrible loss for my family."
