Police Continue Search For Suspects In Sheraden Shop Owner's Fatal Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three and a half months after a local store owner was gunned down outside his small store, one which he had only owned for about a month, police are reaching out to the public's for help.
They are hoping that a reward will encourage possible witnesses to come forward with information.
Darryl Terry, 50, was shot and killed May 18. He owned the Allendale Market, in the city's Sheraden neighborhood.
Pittsburgh Police Lt. Daniel Herrmann said, "We know there was a struggle inside the store, display cases were knocked to the floor, but we don't know if the suspect attempted to rob the store or confront Terry."
The store owner chased the suspect outside while the gunman continued shooting. Terry collapsed on the street, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman driving nearby witnessed the shooting, called 911, and then saw the gunman running two more times before he finally shot her three times through the driver's window.
She continues to slowly recover from her wounds.
Neighborhood resident Chanelle Milner said she knew Terry, and he seemed like a nice guy. She called the shooting "a sad tragedy."
"He didn't deserve what happened to him," Milner said.
Lt. Herrmann described the gunman as African American, between 30- and 50-years-old, about 6-feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds.

Information leading to an arrest and conviction could be worth up to $1,000.
