Police Confiscate Cache Of Weapons After Alleged Road Rage Incident
ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) -- A .22-caliber revolver pistol, an SKS assault rifle, a .40-caliber pistol and ammo.
Those are the guns Aliquippa Police found after what was believed to be a road rage incident.
It all started around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A 911 call came in from a driver about two vehicles he was following. He suspected road rage.
"At one point, one of the individuals in the vehicle pointed a firearm out of the window and actually pointed at our caller," said Aliquippa Police Chief Don Couch.
It all began on Broadhead Road and went on for a few miles.
The caller told police he saw the two drivers pull into a church parking lot on Franklin Avenue, and then heard two shots. The drivers started moving again.
Police attempted to stop one of them and eventually did.
Slade Unis, 26, was behind the wheel and he pulled in behind a convenience store on Franklin Avenue, Coffee Plus, which his family owns.
"Officers got permission to go inside the store, received these firearms," said Chief Couch.
Police have not determined if shots were fired from any of the weapons confiscated, but two rounds were missing from the .40-caliber gun. Unis faces charges.
"Charged with aggravated assault and multiple firearms violations," said Chief Couch.
They are still looking for the second driver.
Unis is at the Beaver County Jail on $50,000 bond.
