Police Ask For Help From Public In Solving Hit & Run Case
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are asking for help from the public in solving a hit-and-run case in Highland Park that left two local doctors who were out for a bicycle ride back in May injured.
The accident happened on May 30 just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Washington and Allegheny River Boulevards.
Dr. Jonathan Finder, a pulmonologist at Children's Hospital, and his friend, Dr. Robert Noll, a psychologist, both suffered serious injuries in the accident. Police say one suffered a broken arm and hip, and the other suffered a concussion and some abrasions.
According to Pittsburgh Police, the two were on their bikes when a gold-colored vehicle turned right in front of them, striking one of the men and sending him crashing into the other.
Investigators say witnesses at the scene reported seeing the gold-colored car going at a high rate of speed.
While officials say they are not sure from which the direction the car came, witnesses reported seeing it leave the scene heading up Washington Boulevard toward Negley Run.
Pittsburgh police are asking anyone who may have seen the accident or may have information regarding the incident to call the Zone 5 Police Station at 412-665-3605.
