Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly Hill District Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police say they have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month in the Hill District.
According to police, 19-year-old DeShawn Lee of Terrace Village was taken into custody Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop.
Police say an officer who was patrolling the Hill District area spotted Lee in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
An arrest warrant was issued for Lee last Thursday in the Oct. 1 shooting death of 47-year-old Edward Sanders along a walkway on Bedford Avenue, investigators said.
According to police, Sanders was shot in the head after becoming involved in a verbal altercation with several males. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Lee is facing charges of criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.
