Police Arrest Suspect In Clairton Robbery, Double Shooting

CLAIRTON (KDKA) -- For a month, police have been looking for a third man in connection with a violent attack in Clairton, and it turns out he's been accused of similar behavior when he was a teenager.

Parrish Linnen, 20, said he would not comment about the latest charges against him.

Linnen: "Call my lawyer he'll talk to you."

Reporter: "Who's that?"

Linnen: "I ain't got one yet."

Linnen was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with the robbery and shooting of a 41-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman who were confronted by three young men demanding money and then firing weapons.

Both were seriously injured and barely made it to the front porch.

"Parrish Linnen was arrested this morning about nine o'clock," said Lt. Andrew Schurman, of the Allegheny County Police. "Clairton Police officers saw him in the passenger seat of a car going down St. Clair Avenue. They were able to stop the car and take him into custody without incident."

But it is not his first encounter with police. In 2007, at age 16, Linnen was charged as an adult in the murder of Jody Burdette as she walked home from a local Uni-Mart.

But a taped confession was thrown out and a judge acquitted Linnen. He was a free man until today.

"Parrish was one of three people involved in a robbery and shooting Aug. 1 of this year in the early morning hours when a young man and woman, who were returning from using an ATM… Mr. Linnen and two other young men attempted to rob those people, ultimately shooting them multiple times," said Schurman.

Linnen is facing a long list of charges, including aggravated assault, attempted homicide, robbery, firearms violations and conspiracy.

Linnen is being held in the Allegheny County Jail while he waits to be arraigned.
