Police Arrest Suspect After Alleged Carjacking, Chase
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police took one person into custody and recovered a gun and drugs after a carjacking and police pursuit through several neighborhoods Wednesday night.
The carjacking was reported in the parking lot of the Golden Corral restaurant in Monroeville after 7 p.m.
Police chased the suspect all the way to Regent Square where the driver crashed into a parked car and a lamp post on South Braddock Avenue.
"It looked like the car was pretty far away, but he was going really fast, and I thought I could make the turn," said Larry Carretta, a witness, "and by the time I pulled out, he hit my car and just started spinning around like crazy."
Police say the found a gun and heroin inside the car.
The suspect's name has not been released.
