Polamalu Thinks NFL, Goodell Are Wrong On Hits

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has a problem with the NFL in the recent focus on illegal hits.

The five-time Pro Bowler is upset the league has targeted teammate James Harrison on the issue, in large part because Polamalu believes the hits at issue are legal. He tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review there's no confusion on what is legal; rather, he says "the problem is that they are wrong."

Polamalu also says that part of the problem seems to be Roger Goodell's all-encompassing power in deciding what and who to punish. The Steeler believes the NFL should have a panel of players, coaches and front-office personnel determining punishments.
