Point Park University Experimenting With Google Glass High-Tech Specs
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- You have probably heard of Google Glass, but have you tried it out?
Some Point Park University students are getting the rare opportunity.
Amanda Munsch, the School of Business Outreach coordinator at Point Park University, has been getting some confused glances and there's a good reason why. She's been wearing Google Glass around the office.
"Every time I wear them in public, everyone stares," she says.
Munsch applied to try out the high-tech specs and was selected by Google. She's one of only 8,000 Google Glass explorers around the world.
Point Park University is footing the $1,500 bill for the technology. Students and staff have been experimenting ever since.
"Google Glass is really the first of its kind and it can do so many things, so I was just so excited to be able to implement it into the classroom and into Point Park University," said Munsch.

So, what can Google Glass do?
Take pictures, record videos, surf the web, and that's just the beginning. It's basically a mini computer.
Dozens of Point Park students have tried out Glass and school leaders want feedback, suggestions on how to implement glass into every day education.
One idea, using glass for virtual tours.
"Being able to have somebody at a venue, walking the venue, showing the stage, showing the load in, the dressing rooms, the equipment and then sending that live imagery back to the classroom, where our classroom can ask questions is instrumental," said Steve Tanzilli, of Point Park's School of Business.
No matter what the use, school leaders say Point Park students have a unique opportunity.
"Something like Google Glass has been instrumental in really demonstrating to the students that you have to be ahead of the curve when it comes to new technologies," Tanzilli added.
