Police: One Arrested, One On The Run After Downtown PNC Bank Robbery
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man was apprehended in connection with a robbery of a downtown Pittsburgh bank.
Police say the man robbed the PNC Bank on 225 Fifth Avenue at 10:43 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The man approached a bank teller and passed a note demanding cash while threatening the teller, according to authorities. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, police said. The male suspect was apprehended a short time after.
Police do not know if the suspect had a weapon, and no one was injured during the robbery.
Authorities are also looking for a man who they say is a person of interest. The man was seen in the vicinity at the time of the robbery, according to the police.
The bank has been temporarily closed due to the robbery. The police are continuing to investigate.
Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 2 and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the 911 call of a bank robbery.
