Pizza Shop Owner Arrested, Accused Of Selling Drugs
OAKLAND (KDKA) -- It wasn't the pizza toppings that caught the attention of investigators at a local pizza parlor, but some of the other stuff that was reportedly being sold on the premises.
The Allegheny County District Attorney's office said late today it will take steps to declare Larry and Carol's Pizza shop, in the 400-block of Semple Street in Oakland a nuisance property and seek to have it closed down.
The DA's drug task force, made up of police officers from several jurisdictions, raided the shop today and confiscated a half-kilo of cocaine, 2 pounds of pot, and dozens of oxycontin pills, along with $6,000 in cash.
The owner of the shop, 35-year-old Fadi Aboud was arrested of dozens of drug-related charges.
In a police criminal complaint, Aboud admitted that he sold cocaine for the past two years, and also sold pot and pills.
As Aboud was being taken to jail tonight, he told reporters "I'm, an idiot."
The investigation into the drug activity at the shop has been going on for about six months.
An employee in the pizza parlor said he had no comment when asked by KDKA-TV about his reaction to today's events.
Aboud is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $200,000 bond.
