Pizza Delivery Driver Shot, Car Stolen In Oakland
OAKLAND (KDKA)- Pittsburgh Police are looking for the men who shot and carjacked a local pizza deliveryman.
Around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, the driver was shot in the 3200-block of Dawson Street in Oakland.
Harris Bergman lives in the South Oakland neighborhood and heard the gunshots.
"It sounded like six gunshots, almost a full click. It was very loud," says Bergman.
Police say the delivery driver's car was also taken, but it was found near the scene of the shooting.
"The shooters apparently jumped in a pizza delivery driver's vehicle, and drove a short distance. We found the car just down the street from the shooting," Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.
The driver wasn't seriously injured in the shooting. Police say he wasn't taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
News of the shooting made Bergman reconsider his plans to become a delivery driver.
"I was going to get a pizza delivery job with my car, and now I'm afraid unfortunately," Bergman says.
So far, police have not released any information on the description of the suspects.
Anyone who has information about this robbery and carjacking should call Pittsburgh Police.
