Pittsburgh Power Owner Lynn Swann Builds Up Pittsburgh-Cleveland Rivalry
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- NFL Hall of Famer and current Pittsburgh Power Owner Lynn Swann joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about another reason to hate Cleveland as the Gladiators come to town to take on the Pittsburgh Power. Swann also talked about the attendance goals the Power have met, staying around 9,000 to 10,000 people per game.
When asked about the state of college football right now, Swann responded by saying the NCAA needs to look into providing players with a reasonable amount of money to live off of while being at school and thinks the issue needs to be dealt with. He also said that Ohio St. will be dealt with rather severely considering what happened at USC and the punishment they were given. Swann was also asked what advice he would give to Ohio St. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor and said he would not allow him to get tattoos simply because he does not like them, and also discussed the boundaries when it comes to "reasonable" amounts of money and gifts players get in college.
Swann also talked about how great Hines Ward did on Dancing with the Stars and how he worked just as hard at dancing as he does at football.
We wrapped things up with Swann discussing the BCS system versus a playoff system to which he said there is no perfect solution, it all just keeps coming back to money rather than the spirit of the game.
