Pittsburgh Mother Loses 2nd Child To Gun Violence
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Pittsburgh woman, wounded in a shooting Thursday night in her Perry South home on the North Side, has lost a second child to gun violence.
Kimberly Wade's 19-year-old son, Chris Michaux, was also wounded Thursday night in a hail of gunfire on Leland Street. He later died of his wounds.
He was shot about an hour after his mother was wounded.
She suffered a gunshot wound to her abdomen as she was standing on the porch of her Koerner Street home a few blocks away from Leland Street. She's hospitalized in serious condition.
Three-and-a-half years ago, Wade was wounded in the leg, and her 12-year-old daughter, Jolesa Barber, was killed in their home on Brightwood Street.
Police at that time described the shootings as gang-related.
After the most recent shootings, Angie Johnson, who lives on Leland Street, said "I don't want to live here now; I've been here for almost five years."
Police said they were looking for a black Chevy Impala with silver trim, tinted windows and chrome wheels which may be involved in Thursday night's incident.
