Pittsburgh Montessori Closed Due To Virus Outbreak
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Officials with the Pittsburgh Public Schools District say there will be no class Friday at Pittsburgh Montessori Pre-K through 8 because of a virus outbreak.
The district said in a press release, they believe the norovirus is to blame for sickening students and staff.
While the school is closed, a maintenance crew will clean the building.
Classes will resume at the school on Monday, October 31.
The virus tends to cause symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain.
It usually takes one to two days to recover.
The norovirus can be contracted by touching contaminated surfaces or through contact with stool or vomit.
