Fans Wait Hours For Harry Styles' Pittsburgh Show; COVID-19 Vaccination Or Negative Test Required
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Hours before Harry Styles' Pittsburgh show, which requires proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or negative test, hundreds of fans were already in line.
Some people have been waiting more two years for the show since his 2020 tour was canceled. Hundreds of people stood for hours hoping to score the best spot on the floor and increase their chances of seeing the singer up close.
There was no camping allowed outside the arena. So instead, some people camped across the street and then walked over when the lines opened at noon. That worked out great for the first person in line who stood outside for 17 hours.
"Someone brought an old Harry Styles doll from when he was in One Direction, so we're playing around with that and making it look like he was checking people into parking. Which was funny. But we just talked and we were reliving the glory days of One Direction," said Mia Settembrine from Columbus.
Styles announced in August that fans would be required to prove they're vaccinated or show a negative COVID-19 test. While PPG Paints Arena only requires masks, Styles' show mandates them.
Styles joins other artists with the vaccine-or-test policy. Some venues like the Pavilion at Star Lake and Stage AE are also implementing similar requirements for all shows.
