Pittsburgh Family Competes On 'Family Feud'
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- From Pittsburgh to "Family Feud." Glenn and Marsha Grayson and family recall the taping in Atlanta.
Reverend Grayson of AME Zion church says the memory is bittersweet. The program was taped on the 20th birthday of a son who is no longer with them.
Jeron Grayson was gunned down October 17, 2010, at a party near California University of Pennsylvania. A Hampton University student with a bright future, he was killed by a man he never met.
"It's moment by moment and you just try to do what you can," Marsha said.
They would donate potential winnings, $100,000, to a Hill District community center in the name of their son.
The Ozanam Cultural Center will be transformed into the Jeron Xavier Grayson Community Center. Fundraising efforts are more than halfway toward the goal of $1.2 million for renovations.
"We hope that the center will spend some emphasis around supporting and undergirding and trying to collectively find alternatives and answers to violence," Rev. Grayson said.
"Obviously we would not like to be in this position, but we're here and so we're going use this to serve God and serving the people of the community," his wife added.
