Pittsburgh-area temperatures will be cooler today with chances of rain

Temperatures today throughout the Pittsburgh area will be cooler today and there will also be chances of rain.

Any Alert Days Ahead?  Nope

Aware: Temperatures yesterday were 23 degrees above normal.  Our high was 30 degrees above the daily average high.

While we won't be as warm as yesterday, today will still be plenty warm and way above the average for today.  Highs today will officially be 67 degrees, but that is a little misleading as that temperature was hit at midnight.

Afternoon temperatures will be in the mid-50s. Even afternoon temperatures will be above the daily average (51°). I have lows today being hit just before midnight with Pittsburgh sitting near 34 degrees for the temperature. The average low this time of the year is 31°.

The reason temperatures will be slowly dropping over the course of the day is a weak cold front that will push through.  This front will bring two rounds of rain today with the first wave of rain occurring from 5a to 11a.  We should then get a break from the rain with another round of light rain, drizzle, and even some snow, possibly from 5p through around 1a, on Friday.

Things get interesting this weekend.  Saturday's rain chance has now ticked down with drizzle and light rain showers still possible.  Our rain totals though will likely be less than 0.05".  Rain chances have really gone up for Sunday.  Yesterday it looked like rain wouldn't arrive on Sunday until well after sundown. The rain chance now looks like it may arrive by noon.

Rain totals are also going up with most now expected to see around 0.7" of rain.
