Pitt's Lindsey Is Big East Defensive Player Of The Week
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt senior linebacker Brandon Lindsey was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week for his work in a 33-20 win against Syracuse Saturday.
Lindsey finished the game with six tackles (three solo), including one sack and one tackle for loss. He also forced two fumbles and intercepted Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib on the afternoon.
Lindsey's second forced fumble sealed the game for the Panthers. He sacked Nassib and forced a fumble that was caught out of the air by cornerback Antwuan Reed and returned 20 yards for a touchdown.
All told, Lindsey's three turnovers resulted in 13 points.
Lindsey now has 22.5 career sacks, putting him ninth on the Pitt all-time sacks list.
