Pitt Increases Reward After 2 More Bomb Threats
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Another day – another bomb threat at the University of Pittsburgh - in this case two.
Pitt students received a text message saying that a bomb threat was made against David Lawrence Hall in the 3900-block of Forbes Avenue in Oakland.
Students were told to evacuate the building. Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the building was given the all-clear.
About an hour later, another bomb threat was made against the Cathedral of Learning. Normal operations resumed in that building at about 6:40 p.m.
The threats come after the university announced a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the bomb threat case last week.
Now, that reward has jumped to $50,000.
More than half a dozen bomb threats have been targeted against the Cathedral of Learning and the Chevron Building.
