Pitt's Chryst Likes Where His Team Is After 3-1 Start
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pitt head coach Paul Chryst is using Pitt's off week to reflect on the Panthers' 3-1 record and he joined The Fan Morning Show on Tuesday morning to talk about it.
"I like where we are at" Chryst said. "But we will take advantage of the opportunities to get better."
The focus of this off week for Pitt is to get some extra work in, but also to get away from it for awhile to let the kids recharge.
Chryst says that they will provide each player with a video to watch to see where improvements can be made. He said that if each individual player can improve, the team will improve.
So, who are these Pitt Panthers who have won three in a row in three very different looking games.
"Good question" Chryst said. "It's fun to see us find a way to win in different ways."
He said the team is still going through growing pains and learning who they are and that the season will fully define them.
Chryst said there were great improvements on defense in the Virginia game. He said he liked how they attacked and had more guys getting to the ball. He said there are things from that game they can build on.
The Panthers will have to wait a week to get that opportunity as they are idle, but will resume next Saturday, Oct. 19, against Old Dominion.
