The game will take place Dec. 28 at 2 p.m.
It's the ninth consecutive bowl trip for the Panthers, who have one of college football's top feel-good stories this season in James Conner - the running back who beat cancer and rushed for 1,060 yards this season.
Northwestern (6-6) is in a bowl game for the second straight year, and is looking for its first postseason win since 2012.
