Pitt Senior Tray Woodall Expecting Panthers To Bounce Back Against St. John's
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt guard Tray Woodall wasn't pleased with the Panthers effort against Notre Dame earlier this week, and is determined to fix that this Sunday when the team travels to New York to take on Big East opponent St. John's.
Woodall joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller on 93-7 The FAN to talk about the comments he made after the loss to Notre Dame about some of his teammates playing selfishly.
"Some of the shots that we passed up on, we wanted to get a shot fake and then drive to the basket or felt like we were getting a better shot, when ultimately, we were getting a worse shot," he said. "I think some guys just didn't want to settle for jump shots and just wanted to get to the basket."
Head Coach Jamie Dixon appeared to be visibly upset with his teams effort after the Notre Dame game, and Woodall said that was the case in the locker room as well.
"It definitely didn't sit well with us at all," he added. "We felt like we should never have been out-rebounded that way. After the technical foul, we're not going to use that as an excuse, but I felt like the momentum shifted after."
Woodall also weighed in on the development of freshman Steven Adams, the play of Talib Zanna lately, and if Dixon is ever open to hearing his suggestions during the game.
