Pitt Quarterback Tom Savage Making Most Of His Time At Pitt
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt quarterback Tom Savage has taken quite the route to get to Pitt and isn't taken any of the opportunities he's being given for granted.
Savage sat down with Joe Starkey of Starkey, Miller and Mueller to talk about the effort he puts into every game and what it was like defeating Notre Dame.
"At the end of the day, 30 years from now, I'm not going to look back and be like, man, I wish I would have preserved myself for the NFL," Savage said. "You want to be out there for your team. These are my guys, this is what I'm going to look back and remember in my life. I'm not going to look back and say I regret preserving my body for giving me a shot in the NFL. If that works out in the NFL so be it, that's a bonus. Right now these are my guys and you just got to go out there and play for them and put your body on the line sometimes."
Savage also discussed the hit Notre Dame's Stephon Tuitt put on him which resulted in an ejection.
"I saw him there but I saw the first down a yard behind him. It's just tough because you're out there competing, that's a big first down, you want to be able to get that, but I lost that battle," Savage recalled. "It was a shame, you never want to see a kid get kicked out of the game, and I don't think he should have."
Savage also discussed the video of Head Coach Paul Chryst dancing in the locker room after the win and his mentality as a quarterback.
