Pitt Junior Forward Durand Johnson Suspended For Entire 2014-2015 Season
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt forward Durand Johnson missed the majority of the 2013-2014 season after tearing the ACL in his right knee, and now he'll miss the entire 2014-2015 season due to suspension.
The announcement was made minutes before the Pitt men's basketball team was ready to take the court for their season opener against Niagara.
Johnson averaged 13.0 points in two exhibition games this season and was going to be called upon to be a major contributor to the Panthers.
Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon said in a statement he's encouraging Johnson to "make the most of this year personally, academically and athletically."
Johnson will be allowed to continue practicing with the team throughout the season.
