Pitt Football Player Held At Gunpoint

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A University of Pittsburgh football player told police he was robbed at gunpoint inside his apartment.

Jason Pinkston, starting senior offensive tackle for the Panthers, apparently ran into Papa Da Vinci's Pizza shop for help around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

The robbery happened in a second-floor apartment on Welsford Street in South Oakland. Two other people were inside the apartment with Pinkston when two men entered, brandishing a handgun.

Pinkston ran out of the back of the apartment and into the pizza shop to call police. When they arrived, the suspects were gone. No one was hurt.

The suspects got away with about $200.
