Pitt Denies Tom Bradley Report
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A report that Pitt has a new head coach is being denied by the Pitt athletic department.
A top spokesman at Pitt tells KDKA-TV that the school has not offered their head coaching job to anyone. It's being reported that Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley has accepted the position.
A source tells KDKA that saying Bradley will be named the head coach is premature.
"The University of Pittsburgh has not offered its head coaching position to anyone, and no decisions about an offer have been made," E.J. Borghetti, a Pitt spokesman, said in a statement.
All that being said, as KDKA-TV Sports has reported for the last 24 hours, Bradley is a very strong candidate and KDKA-TV Sports was the first to report that Bradley interviewed with athletic director Steve Pederson and Jerry Cochran.
Bradley, a native of Johnstown, would be a stabilizing force for the football program and would keep intact the recruiting ties in western Pennsylvania started by former head coach Dave Wannstedt.

The Tom Bradley soap opera has another chapter to it.
David Jones of the Harrisburg Patriot-News reported that two Penn State players were text-messaged by Bradley that he was offered the Pitt Panthers head coaching job, but he is now retracting that report.
