Pitt Basketball To Travel To Indiana for 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge Game
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - As part of the 16th annual 2014 ACC/Big Ten Basketball Challenge, the Pitt men's basketball team will travel to Indiana to take on the Hoosiers on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.
According to the press release from the University of Pittsburgh, "Pitt and Indiana will meet for the ninth time in history with the series tied at 4-4. The last time Pitt played at Indiana was 73 years ago on Dec. 26, 1941. Pitt and Indiana last met in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 8, 2009. The two schools also faced each other in the 2003 NCAA Tournament in Boston, a 74-52 Panthers victory."
In addition to this marquee matchup, the Panthers will also be participating in its first-ever Maui Invitational.
The Panthers will host one game at the Petersen Events Center and play three games from Nov. 24-26 at the Lahaina Center in Maui, Hawaii. Potential opponents in Hawaii include Arizona, San Diego State, Kansas State, Missouri, BYU, Purdue and host Chaminade.
Pitt's entire 2014-15 men's basketball schedule, tip-off times and television appearances will be announced at a later date.
Pitt's 2014-15 and 2015-16 ACC opponents were announced on April 22.
