Pitt Analyst And Former QB Pat Bostick Talks Pitt-Notre Dame and '08 Win
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pitt radio analyst and former QB Pat Bostick joins The Fan Morning Show in studio to preview Pitt's primetime showdown with Notre Dame.
This is what you play for a big time national TV game against a opponent that everyone knows. It has the makings of a great night.
Can the Panthers win?
Bostick says they have to prove they can put an entire game together. They have yet to do that this season.
"It's starts with QB Tom Savage," Bostick said. "A chance at a bowl rest squarely on his shoulders."
They have to get Savage and that passing game going to jump start that running game. If they can't get the running game going then you become too predictable.
Pat also remembers that 2008 game in which he helped lead a second half comeback to lead the Panthers to a 36-33 win in four OTs in South Bend.
"That second half was the coolest thing ever because we quieted that place," Bostick said. "Best victory I have ever been a part of."
Bostick said he could feel the team rise as a unit and he could feel himself rise because he didn't want to let these guys down.
This year's Notre Dame team is a typical Brian Kelly team that is great on offense.
Kelly has Pitt's number, Bostick says. In fact, Bostick is the last Pitt QB to beat Kelly, but it was when he was still the Head Coach at Cincinnati.
The game starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at Heinz Field.
