Pitt AD Steve Pederson Talks University's First Year In ACC
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - After almost two full seasons complete in the ACC, one in football and almost one in basketball, Pitt is getting used to its new conference.
University of Pittsburgh Athletic Director Steve Pederson joined Colin Dunlap on 93.7 The FAN Monday night to discuss the first season of ACC play so far for the school.
Colin asked Pederson about his impressions of the ACC as their first season in the conference starts to wind down.
Pederson told Colin, "I think its been a lot of what we expected, which is great competition, tremendous teams, great universities."
As March gets underway, the NCAA tournament is right around the corner and some believe the selection process should be more transparent.
Colin asked Pederson about the selection process and if there should be more transparency during it.
Pederson told Colin, "I would agree that in the perfect world you would have good transparency, everybody would know and you kind of wonder in this day and age why there aren't cameras sitting in the room while they're making these decisions, people do it with the draft, but the other thing you never want to happen is for people to start playing to the cameras."
