Pirates' Top Prospect Gerrit Cole Looking For First Shot At Major Leagues
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Many believe Pirates top prospect Gerrit Cole could find his way to the major leagues this year, and he talked about those expectations and how he welcomes them when he joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller.
Cole told us he's excited for the season ahead of him, and he's looking forward to getting his shot at making the rotation whether it's at the beginning of the season, or a call-up later in the year.
"Anybody in big league camp has their sights set on being in the majors at least some time this season," said Cole. "In terms of when I get up or if it's out of camp, I can't make those decisions, so I try not to worry about them."
Cole also told us about what he worked on during the off-season, adding that he just tried to gain some consistency in repeating his delivery.
Things wrapped up with Cole giving us a scouting report on two of the Pirates other top prospects, Jameson Taillon and Luis Heredia.
