Pirates Sign Nick Evans
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed first baseman/outfielder Nick Evans.
Evans spent last season in the New York Mets organization, splitting time between Triple-A Buffalo and New York. He hit for a .256 average, four home runs, 25 RBIs and a .314 on-base percentage in 59 games with the Mets.
For his career, Evans is a .256 hitter with eight career homers and 46 career RBIs. He made his major league debut in 2008.
The signing of Evans includes a non-roster spring training invitation.
