Pirates Release 2012 Schedule
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- As the Pirates 2011 season winds down, the team has released their 2012 schedule.
For just the fourth time in PNC Park history, the team will open the season at home on April 5 against the cross-state rival Philadelphia Phillies.
Here are the highlights of their home schedule:
*April 5 thru 8 vs. Philadelphia Phillies – Opening weekend against the Phillies.
*May 21 thru 30 – A nine-game homestand is highlighted with a Memorial Day match up against the
Cincinnati Reds on May 28.
*June 8 thru 10 – Interleague play returns to PNC Park with a three-game series against the Kansas City
Royals.
*June 19 thru 24 Interleague play continues with a three-game set against the Minnesota Twins followed
by a three-game weekend series against the Tigers.
*July 2 thru 8 – A seven-game homestand is highlighted by a July 4 game against the Houston Astros.
*September 3 thru 9 – A six-game homestand gets underway with a Labor Day game against the Astros on
September 3.
*September 28 thru October 3 – A six-game homestand wraps the 2012 regular season with the Atlanta
Braves on October 3.
