Pirates Pitcher James McDonald Talks Houston Sweep, First Of The Season
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher James McDonald joined Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the team's success in Houston.
Immediately following the 5-4 victory in Houston, the Pirates Pitcher joined the guys to talk about the success of the team, now only three games out of the NL Central division lead. McDonald spoke of the "winning vibe" in the clubhouse amongst all the players and the excitement following the three-game sweep.
After coming off the mound, Pitching Coach Ray Searage sat down with McDonald to talk and when asked about that conversation, McDonald said he was given words of encouragement from the coach and said he was proud of him. He said looking forward, the clubhouse is concerned with their own success as a team and not worried about what the Cardinals, Reds, and Brewers are doing in the division.
When asked about the "jock wash" that Seibel will partake in, following their 35-33 record, McDonald said it is honorable for Seibel to follow through with this horrific deed, but at the same time, he is in for a smelly, smelly mess.
McDonald ended the conversation by talking about the leadership among the pitchers including Correia, Maholm, Hanrahan, and Karstens.
