Pirates Option 1B/OF Andrew Lambo To Indianapolis
BRADENTON, Fla. (KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced 11 roster moves early Tuesday morning.
The most notable move was the Pirates sending Andrew Lambo to Triple-A Indianapolis.
According to Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the plan for now is Travis Ishikawa, who is not on the 40-man roster yet, will platoon with Gaby Sanchez at first base to open the season.
Ishikawa was signed as a free agent by the Pirates in December.
He's played parts of six MLB seasons with the Giants, Brewers, Orioles and Yankees. He's been a surprise this spring batting .333 for the Pirates with three home runs in 10 games.

- Omir Santos (C) - reassigned to minor league camp
- Daniel Schlereth (LHP) - reassigned to minor league camp
- Zack Thornton (RHP) - reassigned to minor league camp
- Adam Wilk (LHP) - reassigned to minor league camp
The Pirates open up the regular season against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park on Monday.
