Pirates Not Likely To Sign Bell
When the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted HS outfielder Josh Bell they knew it would be difficult to sign him.
It's looking more and more likely that it will be next to impossible to do so.
ESPN.com's Keith Law tweets today that he's told there is no dollar figure that would change Bell's mind about going to college. According to Law, Bell has made it clear that he will honor his commitment and play college baseball at Texas.
Early speculation had it taking over $6 million to get Bell signed, but, it appears even that won't be enough.
Bell was drafted in the 2nd round by the Pirates (61st overall). If they're unable to sign him, the Pirates will get the 62nd pick in next year's draft.
