Pirates Beat Yankees, 7-4
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen signed his long-term contract and then singled, double and knocked in two runs against the Yankees Tuesday in a 7-4 win.
McCutchen gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring single and in the third inning broke open a 1-1 tie with a double to center field.
Starting pitcher Kevin Correia went two innings without allowing a run or hit. He walked two batters.
Clint Barmes went 2-for-3 and Yamaico Navarro went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Starling Marte went 2-for-2 from the plate.
