Pick-Up Truck Hits Mobile Home In Indiana County
RAYNE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A slick road led to a shocking wake-up call for a family in Indiana County when an out-of-control pick up truck crashed into their mobile home.
Police say the truck slid off of Route 119, north of Indiana in Rayne Township, crashed through a fence and went about 75 feet before slamming into the mobile home. It was 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"We were all asleep and just all of sudden, a big crash. It shook the whole trailer and knocked things off the wall," said Herb Greene.
Greene said it was an especially close call for his teenage son, who was sleeping in the room where the truck hit. The impact sent clothes flying out of Logan Greene's closet and the closet doors came crashing to the floor, just inches from where Logan was sleeping.
Fortunately, neither Logan nor the driver of the pick up was hurt. "Everybody's alright, that's the main thing," said Herb Greene.
Police say 39-year-old Francis Yoder lost control of the truck after he hit some snow and slush on the berm.
"The driver of the pick up, he was at the front door," said Greene, who says Yoder said, "Sorry I hit your trailer."
Greene says before his family lived in the mobile home, it was hit by other vehicles possibly twice.
