Pens/Jeffrey Agree To 2-Year Deal
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Penguins announced that they've agreed to a 2-year deal with winger Dustin Jeffrey.
Jeffrey's contract is a two-way deal in 2011-12 and a one-way deal in 2012-13. The contract has an average annual value of $575,000 at the NHL level.
The Pens aren't deep with proven wingers so Jeffrey will have a legitimate chance to earn a spot on the roster.
Before his season ended with a knee injury, the 23-year old was showing the ability to put the puck in the net.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward established NHL career highs across the board in games played (25), goals (7), assists (5) and points (12).
Before getting recalled to Pittsburgh, Jeffrey recorded 17 goals and 28 assists in 40 games with the Baby Penguins.
