Pens Sign Dupuis To 2-Year Deal
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pens GM Ray Shero has one less free agent to worry about after signing winger Pascal Dupuis to a new contract.
The two sides agreed on a 2-year deal worth $3 million. The cap space for the Penguins will be $1.5 million per season.
Dupuis, who was paid $1.4 million in 2010-11, had 17 goals and 20 assists in 81 games.
Dupuis is a valuable forward for head coach Dan Bylsma because of his ability to play on different lines and also his ability to kill penalties.
The next two priorities for Shero are to try to reach deals with forward Mike Rupp and winger Jaromir Jagr.
Shero and Jagr's agent reportedly spoke by phone this morning and could talk again later this afternoon.
I'm expecting Jagr to make a decision on his future sometime this afternoon.
