Pens Release 2012 Preseason Schedule
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – With the Stanley Cup being presented to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, it's time to start looking ahead to next season.
On Wednesday, the Penguins announced their upcoming preseason schedule for the 2012-13 campaign.
The Penguins will play a total of six games against three teams from the Western Conference's Central Division.
The will play two games each against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.
Three of the games will be played at CONSOL Energy Center and the other three will be on the road.
Pittsburgh will open their preseason schedule on Monday, Sept. 24 against the Blue Jackets on the road.
Their first home game will be on Wednesday, Sept. 26 against the Red Wings.
The Penguins will close out their preseason schedule on Friday. Oct. 5 against the Blackhawks at CONSOL Energy Center.
Here's the full preseason schedule:
- Monday, Sept. 24 at Columbus 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 26 vs. Detroit 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 29 vs. Columbus 3 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 30 at Chicago 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Detroit 7 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 5 vs. Chicago 7 p.m
According to the Penguins' website, the game on Sept. 29 will be the third annual Free Game for Kids.
