Pens Re-Assign Sterling To AHL
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent another player back to their AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Winger Brett Sterling has played seven games for the Penguins this season. During that time, he has scored three goals and added two assists. He was reassigned to the Baby Pens early Saturday morning.
The move may signal the return of Mark Letestu to the lineup. On Wednesday, head coach Dan Bylsma said Letestu could resume playing in a few days.
There is no official word from the Penguins at this time as they prepare to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at 7 p.m.
Defenseman Paul Martin is also close to returning after suffering an upper-body injury during a 3-2 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
On Thursday, the team sent Tim Wallace back to the Baby Pens.
