Pens Playoff Preview With Bob Errey
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--We know the Penguins will be facing the New York Islanders in the first round of the NHL Playoffs. To talk about the matchup, The Fan Morning Show talked to ROOT Sports' color analyst, Bob Errey.
"Crosby and Malkin have never scored against Nabokov," Bob said of matchup issues with the Islanders. "You think of their power play, you think of John Tavares."
The Penguins lost two of the last three games. Bob does not worry about that, because they had nothing to gain by competing at their highest level to win.
"You don't want to run through a wall," Bob laughed about not risking injury.
The line configurations could be as fluid in the playoffs as they were in the regular season. The injury situation is the biggest factor, and it all depends on if Sidney Crosby is able to play in the first round. Bob thinks that there will be no major changes, but minor tweaks in between games, and even within games.
