Pens Lose To Bruins, 4-2
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- The Penguins blew a 2-0 lead, falling to the Boston Bruins in Pittsburgh, 4-2.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first period. Mike Rupp had a backhanded goal set up by Deryk Engelland at 11:39 in the second.
That was followed by a power play goal by Kris Letang with an assist from Malkin at 15:12.
The Pens held off the Bruins for most of the third period until Zdeno Chara got one past Marc-Andre Fleury with 3:33 left during the power play.
The goal then sparked a rally with Brad Marchand scoring 12 seconds later to tie it, 2-2.
With less than a minute on the clock, Mark Recchi had a backhander to make it 3-2. Then Gregory Campbell scored an empty-netter with just eight seconds left for the 4-2 final score.
The Pens were playing without Sidney Crosby who remains out with a mild concussion.
The comeback win was Boston's second in six games.
