Pens Fall To Bruins, 3-1
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) – The Penguins struggled in a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins Monday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Bruins' Gregory Campbell and Benoit Pouliot punched in two goals to take a 2-0 lead.
Boston's Tyler Seguin had a power play goal just under two minutes into the third. Joe Vitale set up Matt Cooke midway in the period for the Pens' lone goal.
The Penguins went 0-for-4 on the power play and squandered a pair of 5-on-3 opportunities.
It was a rough night for two of the Pens' stars.
Sidney Crosby collided with Chris Kunitz near center ice in the third. He left the game, but came back about three minutes later.
Evgeni Malkin fell down after suffering a head-to-head hit with Daniel Paille. After going to the locker room, Malkin also returned to the ice.
