Pens' Defenseman Brooks Orpik Says Team Lost Confidence After Playoff Loss To Flyers
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Joe Starkey of Starkey and Miller on Sports Radio 93-7 The FAN caught up with Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik to discuss the end of the lockout and how ready the team is to get out there and play.
Orpik talked about some of the benefits the players got in their new CBA including a pension plan which, according to Brooks, should really help everyone in the long run.
When it comes to playing an abbreviated season, Orpik talked about the pros and cons saying it doesn't allow for slumps if you want to make the playoffs, and injuries can play a bigger factor.
Orpik also looked back at the team's playoff defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers saying, "we got really tight, and maybe our confidence took a big hit, which is kind of surprising."
