Pens-Bruins Series Preview With Bob Errey
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) - We now know that the Penguins will face the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Finals. To preview the series, The Fan Morning Show talked to ROOT Sports color analyst, Bob Errey.
Bob thinks that goaltending can be a big factor in this series.
"Tuukka Rask doesn't really get in your mind," Bob said. Not having former Bruin, Tim Thomas between the pipes, in Bob's mind could hurt Boston.
Rask is playing well right now. But, Craig Anderson was a Vezina Trophy finalist who was the best goaltender in the first round of the playoffs, and the Penguins disposed of him pretty easy.
As for the Penguins, Tomas Vokoun has righted the ship, and given no reason for Dan Bylsma to take him out of the starting job. Bob thinks that we will still see Marc-Andre Fleury at some point, but only if Vokoun slips up.
Jarome Iginla had a choice between the Penguins and Bruins at the trade deadline. He chose the Penguins, and when they play in Boston for Game 3, he can expect to receive a lot of attention from some irked fans. However, the respect factor is on Iginla's side amongst all players in the league, including the Bruins.
