Pens Analyst Bob Errey Gives Pens Season A Grade Of "C"
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With emotions dying down from the embarrassing Eastern Conference finals sweep at the hands of the Bruins, Starkey, Miller and Mueller welcomed in ROOT Sports Pens analyst Bob Errey as they took a look back today and gave their grades for the season as a whole.
Errey opens up right away and says he gives the Pens a "C" because "you had a great regular season, you had a poor playoffs. That comes out to be a 'C,' and I don't think it can be any better."
When it comes to who is more responsible for earning that "C" grade, the players or coaches, Errey says the blame belongs to both of them but there were changes he would have made differently than Bylsma.
"I would have liked Jokinen in the lineup, I would have liked Iginla on the right side, I would have liked Kennedy in the lineup and I would have like Fleury in the lineup. But I'm not the coach and Dan Bylsma is a good coach," said Errey. "Some onus does come on the players. I thought the players lost their emotional minds at the end of Game 1 and Game 2 again. Players have to control their emotions and play their game. The coach can only draw up so much."
Errey also gave his thoughts on the extensions for Bylsma and his coaching staff as well as what the future will hold for Kris Letang.
