PennDOT Crews Working Round The Clock As Winter Storm Moves In
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- PennDOT was ready and waiting in Washington County Tuesday evening.
Plows had been placed on trucks and salt had been loaded. A full crew was working until midnight, and then another full crew was due in to work through the morning.
Dale Baird, from PennDOT, says it made no sense to pretreat the roads since the storm is supposed to start as rain.
He advises people to stay off the streets in the morning if they don't have to be out.
Dakota Marshall, 14, is hoping the snow will allow him to sleep in.
He doesn't want a snow day because that would interfere with the upcoming Easter break; instead, he hopes his school calls for a two-hour delay.
Others say they're simply fed up with winter and are dreading one more tangle with snow.
